Lindenwood University Division 1 Scoreboard
Ziglin Signs was contacted by CTI (Conference Technologies, Inc.) to install a large 28’ x 71’ LED 10mm electronic message scoreboard for Harlen C. Hunter Stadium at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. The location where the college wanted the scoreboard was almost impossible to access, let alone install a scoreboard of this size, but Ziglin Signs took the challenge and conquered it. Partnering with SCE, Inc., a plan was devised on how to install due to the accessibility and site conditions. Helical piers were used to anchor the large concrete pier made up of 140 yards of concrete, which weighed in at close to 630,000 lbs., including steel. The scoreboard is pulling 1400 amps at 240v. SCE, Inc. provided all of the helical piers and foundation work, along with using their 135-ton crane to lift all of the materials and equipment to the jobsite. The steel beams used were measured at 36” x 135 at 41’ OAL, weighing in at 5525 lbs. per beam. The electrical wiring was made up of more than 126 circuits to power the scoreboard. We were tasked to install the scoreboard in less than 4 weeks from start to finish so it could be debuted at their first home football game. We hope the fans, athletes and coaches enjoyed the large screen at that first game! What an exciting project to be involved in and we appreciate all of our partners who worked together to make this happen.
